Welcome to Sax Zim Bog Lodge!

We're located in downtown Hibbing, Minnesota, about three hours from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and 50 miles from Duluth and 40 miles to Giants Ridge Recreation area.

Just a little about the Sax Zim Bog Lodge itself- we are situated in Downtown Hibbing and about 30 miles from the Sax Zim Bog Nature Preserve. We are also super close to the amazing talented Bob Dylan’s Childhood home. We are approximately only 8 blocks away if you are looking for a stroll. You can check out the brick public art tribute that commemorates Dylan’s Nobel Prize in Literature on the way to the home. This is a great opportunity to check it out. Some other notable areas to visit in the area are the Memorial Building for Hockey and Curling, The Greyhound Museum, Hull Rust Mine View, and the Historic Hibbing High School.

After a long day of hiking on the Sam Zim Trail, the Sax Zim Bog Lodge is the ideal place to unwind and warm up. The Lodge offers a perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate for a day, a weekend, or even longer. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home comes equipped with the following amenities:

3 Queen Beds
2 Full Bathrooms (1 upper/ 1 lower level)
Fully equipped Kitchen with updated appliances (along with pots/pans/dishes) Keurig machine, crockpot, toaster, and the necessities to cook up a home-cooked meal.
Beautiful Hardwood floors throughout
Outdoor Decking along with dining table and seating
Smart TVs with the ability to access your favorite stream apps
Included are board games, cards, a record player, and books for your use
Detached Garage/ (great for those MN Winter days). Can fit 2 small vehicles

Some helpful tips for your stay:

In order to book your stay, please book the number of people that will be staying at the Lodge. You will then sign a short-term rental agreement. This allows our 3rd party screening company to verify your identity and check databases to confirm your reservation. (Please note your driver's license doesn’t go to us it will go to the 3rd party screening company for verification.) Please remember this needs to be completed within 12 after your booking or your booking reservation will be canceled to allow others to book the lodge.

There is insurance offered by Safelystay.Inc. They offer up to $5000 of coverage for accidental coverage and $500,000 for accidental property damage. There is a $100 deductible. If there is any damage found, the credit card on file will be charged the $100 deductible.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, especially with Northern MN winters in case your plans should change.

With your Stay Things to remember:

The Sax Zim Bog is located in a historic area of Hibbing. We have measures in place to ensure your safety and protect the Sax Zim Bog Lodge House.We do have a security system located outside the home
You can park your vehicles in the garage and driveway
Parking is allowed on Howard but not 9th Street Since its Permit Parking Only
Please don’t use the side door or the front as the entrance as there are no keys for those doors.
If you have food delivery please have them use the back entrance, as the snow and ice is better cleared since it faces south.
Only use Duraflames logs in the fireplace - NO REGULAR WOOD
10 pm is a quiet hour within the area -please be respectful of this as we have neighbors that live here full time.
